McAllen is the Rio Grande Valley's cross-border logistics centre: the customs brokers, bonded warehouses and maquiladora supply chains that move manufactured goods between Mexico and the US are all concentrated here.

Cargo leaving McAllen for orbit consolidates at McAllen Miller International (MFE). From there it routes to Boca Chica Starbase. Ninety minutes east along US-83 to Brownsville, then SR-4 to the site.
