A record of your booking you actually own
We’re building a way to back every confirmed booking with a real, verifiable digital certificate — issued directly to you, not held by us on your behalf. Think of it less like an account entry we control and more like a certificate of ownership that lives in a wallet only you hold the keys to.
What it is
When a booking is confirmed, the specific capacity you reserved — which leg, how much mass — can be represented as a digital certificate issued straight to your own wallet. We never custody it, hold it in escrow, or keep the only copy of the record on our own servers. It’s yours the same way anything else in a wallet you control is yours.
How it works
-
Booking confirmed
Your booking is confirmed the same way it always is on CharterSpace.IO.
-
Certificate issued
A verifiable certificate is issued directly to your own wallet — not held by us.
-
Yours to hold
You can verify it independently, any time, without trusting a dashboard we control.
Built on Base
These certificates are issued on Base, a fast, low-cost, secure network used broadly for exactly this kind of everyday digital ownership. We chose it for that combination — quick to confirm, inexpensive to use, and backed by infrastructure with a strong security track record. CharterSpace.IO builds on Base the way any application does; we’re not affiliated with or endorsed by Base or Coinbase.
Why it matters
Verifiable, not just promised. What was actually reserved is written to a record you can check independently, rather than something that only exists on a dashboard we control.
Genuinely yours. Because the certificate lives in your own wallet, it isn’t something we can quietly take back or revoke. It’s also designed to eventually support transferring or lending your reserved capacity to someone else — a real capability we’re building toward, not a promise with nothing behind it.
Low cost by design. Base’s transaction costs are a small fraction of older blockchain networks’, so this level of verification doesn’t add meaningful cost to your booking.
Where this stands today
This is an active part of what we’re building into the CharterSpace.IO booking flow. We’d rather tell you honestly what’s real today than oversell something that isn’t live yet — see our About page for the same principle applied to the rest of the platform.
