The Tsukuba Space Center operates Japan's ISS module and trains its astronauts, and the surrounding science city concentrates national research institutes in materials, metrology and life sciences.

Cargo leaving Tsukuba for orbit consolidates at Narita (NRT), around an hour away. From there it routes to Baikonur Cosmodrome, Vandenberg SLC-4E and 1 other site. Charterspace lists the residual capacity on flights that are already leaving, so what is open from these sites changes as providers release it.
